“It’s like Paramore and ABBA got drunk in a basement and accidentally created a cult.”

    — Guy who wandered into Specters by mistake

“They’re loud. They dress weird. But at least they’re not doing drugs.”

    — Jen’s Mom

“Saxophone should be illegal at that emotional volume.”

    — Person Baldwin accidentally awakened spiritually

“we booked them once. Now they keep coming back. I think they live here.”

    — Specters staff member, probably

We all have curfews. Ours is early and harsh — and we’re always breaking it.

Jen’s Curfew is an indiepop band born in the late-night chaos of Shanghai and shaped by global roots. With soul-soaked vocals, sax solos that make you feel things you didn’t ask for, and glitter-laced grooves, they turn emotional turbulence into something you can dance to.

Crowned That’s Shanghai’s Best Live Band of the Year (Editor's Choice 2024), they’re known for packing out venues like Specters, Yuyintang, OKOK, C's Bar, and going full throttle in Wuhan, Nantong, and university festivals in Kunshan, Jen’s Curfew throws shows that feel like the best kind of breakdown: cathartic, sweaty, and wildly unforgettable. Whether it’s a trashy prom night or a costume-filled Halloween banger, they bring the drama — and the joy.

They play “pop” because they want to move you. They play “indie” because that’s what they are.

Stay up late with Jen’s Curfew — the real magic happens after hours.

Proof that music is a group therapy session.

Bassist by night, secret citypop romantic by… also night. Don’t ask about Miki Matsubara unless you have time.

Most likely to cry mid-chorus and still hit the high note. Special skills: turning heartbreak into a group activity.

Only band member featured across multiple international news outlets for reasons completely unrelated to music.

Yes, that’s a keytar. No, he’s not sorry. Once played a solo so dramatic it triggered a fog machine.

Heartbeat of the band. Drummed through a typhoon once. Didn’t flinch.

Joined the band during peak chaos. Probably didn’t sign up for this much glitter.
